“Charlie” is a lovely, stable, patient, masculine Mudi with exactly the temperament I am after. He is a versatile boy with a background in agility, obedience, nose work, as well as being an excellent support dog to a young man with autism! He has a great personality and enjoys the company of both humans and dogs!
He also has a lovely and diverse pedigree with some of my favourite Finnish lines in him, to boot.

Vulpix is my first personal Mudi and the foundation bitch to my program, Roka Mudis. It is her and her dam, “Hilarow Nature’s Whirlwind of Iszkiri” that sparked my passion for the breed.
Vulpix is a gentle, old soul. She is polite and calculating - always analyzing and thinking. She’s extremely sweet and social without being rude and pushy. She greets strangers by holding her ears back, wiggling, and rubbing against their legs while accepting pets. She loves to play with other dogs and is especially keen on larger males. She lets them know that she is tough and rugged and that size doesn’t hold her back from having fun!
Vulpix is very obedient and naturally in tune with me. Very attentive and empathetic. I call her my “soul dog”. Even as a pup she has willingly walked beside me in an offered casual heel. She has a bombproof temperament - very little phases her.
Vulpix loves the water - even taking baths and showers with me. She regularly swims through river rapids to retrieve floating balls or sticks. She’s agile, fast and quick to learn. Right now our focus is obedience, trick training and herding - but we have hopes of getting involved in dock diving, sprinters, barn hunt and possibly other sports as well. We also aim to try out hand at conformation.
In summary, Vulpix is medium drive, medium energy with an excellent natural off switch. She is ready to go when I am but also happy to have a lazy day here and there.

she doesn’t like it when I raise my voice to the other dogs but she will still do what I ask.
- Vocal? (Low/medium/high)
Low - medium
easy to redirect when she does bark she alert barks or growls but doesn’t bark incessantly just a couple barks to let me know someone is out there
- Human social: (reactive, aloof, neutral, social)
Neutral she will approach new people but doesn’t always want Pets sometimes just want to smell, some people she likes some she doesn’t. This past weekend she climbed right on to a lady’s legs for pets doesn’t normally get that close that fast so it was surprising
- Dog social: (reactive, aloof, neutral, social)
Neutral.
- Environmental sensitivity: scale of 1-10 (ten being very reactive/unable to redirect, one - sleeping and/or completely engaged and able to ignore the world with you in a busy crowd)
3-4 - She notices things in the environment but will generally engage with you and do things. She played disc this weekend in a new place close to the airport with planes going overhead and it didn’t seem to phase her.
- Velcro (scale 1-10, one being very independent and aloof, 10 being living in your skin at all times)
7 - likes to lay with you and follows you from room to room but also will go off on her own and explore
- Affectionate (scale 1-10, one being not ever seeking or giving affection/attention, 10 being the most affectionate dog ever)
8 - she loves to snuggle and will jump on you to get some love when she feels the need
- Problem solving skills/independent thinking: (scale 1-10, one being needs help with everything/can’t generalize, 10 being puzzle master)
7 - has picked up things fairly fast when teaching her and is fairly resilient when learning and figuring out what she is supposed to do
- Off switch?
Very good off switch is happy to go do things or lay on the couch
- Pros?
She learns quickly and likes doing new things if they are fun and exciting. She is a very easy dog to live and work with. She has fit in well with the rest of the pack she may be the youngest but she isn’t a pushover she holds her own with the other dogs when playing and wrestling.
- Cons?
That there is only 1 of her! Lol
If you ask her to keep repeating a task and she’s decided it’s boring she will just lay down usually with her belly in the air.
-Anything else you’d like to add:
The other night in agility class she was working out with two other dogs at the same time, no problem. She kept her focus on me even when the other dogs were doing exciting things.

- Velcro (scale 1-10, one being very independent and aloof, 10 being living in your skin at all times)

9 - Very intelligent!! Loves puzzle feeders and will try anything to get a toy or piece of food that’s out of reach. Offers different behavior in shaping sessions.
- Off switch?
Lovely 😊
- Pros?
Sweet temperament, great off switch with good work drive, very nice coat and head, great toy and food drive, curious, wants to engage with me. Her recall has been so easy to teach, she just is nicely in tune with me.
- Cons?
Some environmental sensitivity, her height—wish she was an inch or so shorter.
-Anything else you’d like to add:
She is simply lovely and what I needed. She can be a loud, pushy girl and also a sweet little lady who spoons me in bed. Just really fun all around and has given me a lot of confidence back.

Very good but she is also busy and doesn’t like to stay in the same spot.
- Pros:
So incredible with young children. Very soft yet spicy. Doesn’t feel the need to be away from owner so recall is very easy. Good food and toy drive. Incredibly biddable. Learns very fast (new tasks take about 3 sessions to learn). Not bothered by going to new places and seeing new things.
-Cons:
Is naughty and likes to get into trouble. Can’t be fully trusted alone as she enjoys projects and finds something to occupy her. Selectional hearing when it suits her. Harasses dogs she knows during play by yelling at them.
-Anything else you’d like to add:
She has filled a hole in my life that I didn’t even know I was missing. The first few months I had her I was super stressed about balancing my attentions between my dogs but now she just fits in so naturally.

- Drive (general): (low/medium/high)
medium high
- Energy level: (low/medium/high)
medium high
- Biddability: (low/medium/high)
medium, can be very independent in certain contexts
- Handler sensitivity: (low/medium/high)
medium (sensitive to me, empathetic, but doesn't effect biddability or work ethic)
- Vocal? (low/medium/high)
medium high (situational, screams when amped up, barks profusely at his favorite people upon seeing them unexpectedly, very alert-y but never nuisance barks)
- Human social: (reactive, aloof, neutral, social)
social-leaning neutral
- Dog social: (reactive, aloof, neutral, social)
social-leaning neutral
- Environmental sensitivity:
6. Context matters. Notices most things, alert barks often, but takes redirection decently.
- Velcro: (scale 1-10, one being very independent and aloof, 10 being living in your skin at all times)
8ish. Has some separation anxiety troubles (he seemed predisposed to that from pretty young, dislikes being alone), but he is reacting well to counterconditioning. If he has a "focus dog" he is good without a human around.
- Affectionate: (scale 1-10, one being not ever seeking or giving affection/attention, 10 being the most affectionate dog ever)
6. Very rarely wants cuddles, will ask for attention but also goes hours without asking.
- Problem solving skills/independent thinking: (scale 1-10, one being needs help with everything/can’t generalize, 10 being puzzle master)
9. Great at offering behaviors and figuring out what I want. Some puzzle toys have puzzled him (ha). I have noticed many instances of him figuring something out that I never taught him, even after only a couple of instances.
- Off switch?
Solid! Will intermittently get up and "check on" things, but settles back down quickly.
- Pros?
Generally friendly with everyone. Curious, loves new experiences. Generalizes well. Solid work drive, over-the-top toy drive, good food drive. Recalls well- mostly. Most of the issues we've had he's done a great job of working to adjust. So in-tune with owner that he's naturally tasked for them (as in, jumped into lap without prompting while they’ve been crying).
- Cons?
Difficult to recall when he is actively engaged with a dog he finds very fun. Related, can be a pest to dogs he finds very fun. A little more environmentally sensitive than I'd prefer.
Separation anxiety issues. Wish he was more cuddly!
-Anything else you’d like to add:
He's seriously the perfect little guy for me. Challenges me and pushes me *just enough*. He wants to be with me exactly as much as I want to be with him. Could not ask for a better little chaos demon.

I LOVE THIS BREED
Litter Notes:
•a few puppies went through a period of having experienced marked car sickness. Meclizine, crate fans and kennels being covered with a blanket helped. Has improved with age in most although there is some persistence on long road trips.
•1 puppy was born with a severe cleft palate and crooked/fused jaw. This puppy passed away within minutes of being born.
•1 puppy (Roka Amarok) had very weak ears, which I elected to post around 13 weeks. May have come up on their own (sire’s ears flopped until ~7 months) but I didn’t want to risk it. Puppy is in a pet home.
•1 puppy (Roka Amaryllis) had a small, persistent umbilical hernia needing surgical repair.
•1 puppy (Roka Aguara) has had some struggles with separation anxiety (being left alone at home in a kennel).
•Very consistent temperaments across entire litter. Social, stable, versatile, mild-mannered and intelligent pups.
• 2024 - Bergahoppets Felicia AF Vamos (granddam on sire’s side, born 2012) was euthanized due to developing severe GI symptoms including chronic hemorrhagic diarrhea. Abdominal masses felt on palpation - no further diagnostics performed.
